Amy Newton-McConnel is an art photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. Her practice uses Intentional Camera Movement and Multiple Exposure techniques to transform observed environments into abstract compositions. Working with line, texture, color, shape, and movement, she creates images that shift photography away from direct representation and toward an exploration of perception and emotion.

By moving the camera during exposure and combining successive exposures within a single image, Amy records the instability of a passing moment. Her photographs consider how familiar subjects can be reinterpreted through gesture, duration, and abstraction. This process allows her to construct visual narratives that invite viewers to reconsider the ordinary and engage with the relationship between recognition and imagination.

Amy’s work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Arizona and presented in virtual exhibitions. Her photography is held in the permanent collection of Rosie’s House: A Music Academy for Children in Phoenix. Her work has also appeared in Hintology, ICM Photography Magazine, Spectaculum Magazine, Spotlight Contemporary Art Magazine, The Pictorial List, Upward’s Quarterly, and Women United Art Magazine.
