I am the Founder and President of Paradox Films, a media production company based in Peekskill, New York. I am an award-winning documentary filmmaker and photographer with more than 25 years of experience in the field. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with a range of established production companies —most notably Firelight Media — working as a freelance Producer, Director, Archival Producer, Cinematographer, and Production Coordinator. Prior to my work in independent film, I worked at CBS News as a Broadcast Associate.

As a photographer and an independent filmmaker, my work is inspired by bold patterns, powerful monuments and the beauty of the natural world.

My art practice also explores themes centered on African American identity, history and culture, in which I will often utilize archival materials to re-center people of African descent into narratives about the future and liberation.

“Black When I’m Blue 2 is a re-imagining of Black women’s power within the universe. The intent behind the work is to place an archival cyanotype of an African American woman within a context outside of the actual time and place in which the photograph was created. Instead of viewing this woman as mostly poor and rural, which is the original environment, the photograph transmits her to an unspecified time and place where her power is restored and glorious.”
