Eileen MacAvery is a Hudson Valley-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice examines the relationships between memory, family, community, spirituality, and the environment. Working across photography, video, writing, and design, she brings these subjects into dialogue through projects that consider how personal histories intersect with place and collective experience. Her ongoing practice as a yoga teacher also informs her approach to movement, attention, and observation. She leads walking, movement, and meditation workshops, as well as sketching classes.

Eileen is a professor at SUNY Rockland Community College and has more than three decades of experience as an artist, graphic designer, and art educator. She develops multidisciplinary projects in which she works as an artist, photographer, video editor, author, and designer. Her projects include Her Six Word Story, Familiar Places, Liminal Spaces, LoveSense, The Ghosts We Live With, East End Stories, Teacup Secrets, and The Afterlife. Eileen is a Fulbright Scholar and has received grants from the New York State Council on the Arts.
