Tracy Phillips is a visual artist based in Saugerties, New York, whose paintings are structured through color, form, and line. She earned her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 1983 and developed her practice in Brooklyn before relocating her studio to the Catskills in 2015. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally, including presentations in France and Venice, Italy.

Tracy’s practice is guided by curiosity and play, with each painting contributing to an ongoing examination of memory, time, reverie, and environment. Drawing from natural patterns, geometric structures, and less visible forces within internal and external experience, she creates compositions that resist fixed interpretation. Geometric and organic forms merge, separate, and reappear, reflecting the movement of memory through awareness. Her use of color and liminal forms also addresses environmental loss and renewal, embodied thought, and the tension between damage and regeneration. Tracy’s work has received numerous awards and curated by professionals from institutions including the Whitney Museum, the Guggenheim, and the Brooklyn Museum.
