This ongoing project examines light and shadow through Carl Jung’s analytical psychology, particularly the concept of shadow work. In Jungian theory, the shadow contains aspects of the psyche that are repressed, unacknowledged, or excluded from conscious identity. Here, darkness becomes a generative psychological and symbolic space rather than an absence. Drawing on self-portraiture and the natural world, the work merges human forms with organic structures, dissolving boundaries between internal states and external environments. Light and shadow operate as both formal and metaphorical devices, positioning engagement with obscured or unresolved material as essential to psychological awareness and integration.
