Finding Balance (2025)
SOLI PIERCE
petrified wood, metal circle and stone
10H x 6W x 8D in (25 × 15 × 20 cm)
A circular frame hovers above a stone base while a sphere rests at the threshold between its interior and exterior. The ring suggests order, repetition, and continuity, yet remains neither fully enclosing nor entirely open. Positioned against its boundary, the sphere resists containment and transforms the static geometry into a site of tension and possibility. The weathered base anchors the composition within the physical world. Together, these elements consider the relationship between structure and agency, presenting power as the capacity to press against established limits while remaining in active relation to them.
