IN AN INSTANT
This exhibition begins with the wonder of instant image-making and follows how the idea of the “instant” moved from novelty to norm. From photographs to messaging to fame, speed has come to shape how moments are produced and experienced. The works here return to the image as both object and encounter, questioning what it means to pause in a culture built on immediacy.

In 1948, the Polaroid changed the tempo of photography. With a single click, an image began to surface in the creator’s hands, developing in real time as people gathered to watch. The photograph was no longer delayed. It became immediate, visible, and shared. A moment moved quickly from experience to object.
IN AN INSTANT is a community exhibition of instant film, bringing together a collection of photographs submitted by creators, each bringing their own way of seeing. Each image captures a moment as it happened, developed and held in real time. Sensitive to light, temperature, and touch, instant film introduces chance into the image-making process.
Come for the flash. Stay for the memory.
