I am a multidisciplinary artist with a BA in Photography from CCNY. My practice is shaped by chance encounters, memory, and ideas that evolve through process rather than toward a fixed outcome. Working across photography, alternative processes such as cyanotype, digital image manipulation, woodworking, and sculpture, I allow materials and intuition to guide each piece. I am honored to be a recipient of the 2025 BRIO Award from the Bronx Council on the Arts.
The main emphasis of this project is documenting the interactions or chats I had with chatGPT that took place as an assistant or tool in the creation of an art installation to take place, in February 2026, at Kent Library in Putnam county, NY.
The installation has two dimensions, the ‘container’, which uses the metaphor of a card catalog and the contents which is basic information about the geography of the Sovereign countries and entities of the Caribbean. Ie: Jamaica, US Virgin Islands respectively. chatGPT helped in the identification of each entity and provided the visual relative representation of each entity and certain geographic and card catalog information such as the Dewey Decimal system code for each entity and location within a map grid. Each chat was saved to a pdf file and printed. It is these documents and images of the installation piece that are the project label ‘Island Hopping’. As the Caribbean has a large Spanish speaking population, the documents will also be presented in Spanish.
