Suprina Troche is a multidisciplinary sculptor based in Poughkeepsie, New York. She studied sculpture at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and developed her technical knowledge through commercial prop-making for clients including Annie Leibovitz, Apple, Bloomingdale’s, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. After experiencing September 11 while living in Lower Manhattan, Suprina committed her practice to environmental, social, and political concerns.

Working with discarded objects alongside modeling, casting, sewing, and painting, Suprina examines how individuals are valued, celebrated, marginalized, or abandoned. She combines difficult subject matter with an attention to beauty, transforming separate objects into unified sculptural forms while retaining traces of their original functions.

Her public projects include Circle of Intention, an interactive sculpture created for Governors Island in 2012, and The DNA Totem, installed at Marcus Garvey Park before traveling to locations across New York and New Jersey. Her installation Becoming “Them” examined society’s relationship with technological devices. Suprina has received grants from the Puffin Foundation, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and regional arts programs, as well as the 2021 Dutchess County Executive’s Art in Public Places Award. In 2023, she established CONVEY/ER/OR, a Poughkeepsie gallery presenting art addressing environmental, political, and social issues.
