Final Call: Foundations of Practice Exhibition

2026 opens the doors to a new beginning for The Pictorial List. We are now a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and with it, we introduce the Pictorial Foundation and the opening of our first dedicated gallery space — a place committed to building a living framework for artists to be seen, read, supported and remembered.

Foundations of Practice is the inaugural exhibition in our new gallery space, and this is the final call to be part of its first chapter. Open to all visual artists, across all mediums, the exhibition brings together diverse practices at a shared starting point.

The theme speaks to what grounds an artist: process, material, repetition, intuition, labor, and belief. It asks where a practice begins and what it is built upon — conceptually, physically, and over time. This is not about a single aesthetic, but about the structures that hold a practice together and allow it to evolve.

Artists are encouraged to submit a final piece supported by process material — video, journal drawings, notes, or writings — that offer insight into how the work came into being.

To take part is to enter the new year with your work visible, acknowledged, and recorded. Selected artists will be exhibited in the gallery and represented on our website, marking their place in this founding moment.

Submissions are closing.

Join us now and be among the first to lay the foundation on which this space will stand.
